House of Hope

We were very impressed with the HOH. The facility is well taken care of, the staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is full of love. We were so glad that our little girl had been there for the past 3 months.
This is Tsegay, the director of the House of Hope. He is an amazing man with a heart of gold. He and his wife, Almaz, love all of the children and do a wonderful job managing every aspect of the HOH. He was so organized with all of the paperwork we needed while in country and took care of everything for us. What a relief because we were on cloud nine after getting Ruby, there was no way we could be worrying about paperwork! :)
This was one of Ruby's nannies that loved her so much.
The staff worked endlessly on all of the laundry.
These are the cooks in the kitchen. They were so friendly and always made wonderful meals.
This is Ruby laying in her crib at the House of Hope one last time.
This is one of my very favorite Bible verses and it gave me goosebumps to see it on the wall of the children's rooms. The Lord has a plan for each and every one of the orphans.
Robb and I kept saying how thankful we were that Ruby received such amazing care until we got to her. Later in the week we were able to visit the orphanage that Ruby spent 3 weeks in before coming to the House of Hope. The orphanage was nothing compared to the HOH. I will share those pictures later this week.

Thanks for sharing the pics, especially the Bible verses. Ruby looks so tiny in her crib! I enjoyed your previous post about communicating with a 5 mo. old. If you ever unearth the secret to this, please share! Hope you all are feeling better after your stomach bugs.

Love to hear about your trip.

It would be so tough working there. I don't know how I'd feel about seeing precious little ones leave. I'm sure that meeting wonderful adoptive parents like you and Robb makes it easier.

You got a chance of a lifetime. Just the little bit you have been able to share gives me goosebumps, cause it is a awesome experience. I am so glad that Ruby was in such a good place before she came home with you. I can't wait to hear all the rest of the details of your trip.

Hi Teresa...
can I possibly get your email address?
I have some questions that I'd like to ask you if you don't mind. If you'd rather not that's okay..this web is a rather large and anonymous place, so would understand hesitation on your part.
I've just received an information package from an adoption agency here in Canada. You inspired me to once again pay attention to that little small voice that's been speaking to my heart for maaany years. I've had it in my heart since I was a little girl probably less than 12, to adopt an african child....don't know why...but I think it has been the HS whispering to me all these years. My email address is on my profile on my blog if you want to reply to it.
Hoping to hear from you.
Heather

Yeah!! Pictures of some of our favorite people. I agree the HOH staff was AMAZING!!! Love them! Ruby's nanny was also one of Silas' nanny's - she was incredible, so humble, so sweet and loving.
