Travel Shots

Robb and I got the first round of travel shots last week. I really despise needles so I have been dreading this part of the adoption journey. We were able to get 3 of the 6 shots we need which included, Hepatitis A, Typhoid and a Polio booster. My arms were sore for 3 days! I was beginning to think that I would have handled getting one of the diseases better than I handled the vaccinations! The first afternoon I was completely miserable. Robb's arms were pretty sore too. We haven't made the appointment for the next round yet. I think I've recovered, so we best be getting the rest done. I can't wait to put a check mark next to Travel Shots!

I remember having to get all the shots and meds for Alicia's missions trips. She was always such a trooper. I remember she needed meds for malaria when heading to Africa and her friend had taken them and had halucinations. Now that gives a mom peace of mind, ahhh!

Hope your arms heal and you can get this totally out of the way.

Look at Robb trying to be all manly about it!!!! Yuck. I got quezy just looking at those pictures. I do not handle needles well either so I feel for ya!! It will all be worth it though when you are holding Ruby in your arms.

Yuck, I do not like needles either, i just cringe thinking about it. Well just think though you are half way there with the shots the second round should be a breeze :) Anymore news on Ruby?

Those picture of you and Robb and priceless! You actually appear to be handling it all quite well.

My little shot tip for the day: I always grap my leg and squeeze. I focus on the small amount of pain I'm giving to my leg, and then I hardly notice when they stick me.

Maybe you could think of all the shots as the substitute for labor pains. : )

Ouch! I just moved overseas so I would not have to get anymore shots. :-)
