Tomorrow Brylie and I have a date at the salon. Brylie usually just gets a trim, but lately she has really been wanting to get her hair cut "short". Part of me wants to scream NO because she has gorgeous hair, but I think a little bob would be adorable too. Her hair grows really fast so I know it would be grown out in no time and it would be a cute cut for summer.....I just don't know. She also says she wants "no bangs" like her friends, but that sounds like too much work right now. Maybe if her hair was shorter we could think about growing out her bangs. Anyway, I know this isn't thinking blog material...just something I am thinking about today. I would love to hear your opinion.

What do you think?

We did the first short cut around first grade. It made the girls so grown up looking :(
As far as the bangs. I wouldn't do it with summer coming. They will be hanging in her eyes all summer unless she wears a head band every single day.
But then, what do I know, my baby is 18, hehe! Old memories from having three with longgggggg hair and trying to grow out the bangs :) Amy would know, she just did it with Nikia!
I would do the bob and then you could work her bangs back into her hair. That is what I am doing with Brooklyn. Her hair grows SLOW but we are making great progress. You said Brylie's hair grows fast so I think it would be grown out in no time and with the shorter hair, the bangs would blend easier. That's just my opinion. No bangs does make them look older all of a sudden though!!!
My daughter wants to go shoulder length and I don't want to cut it because she has beautiful hair! I think that we might get a couple inches cut off for summer...hopefully that will be our compromise.
Brylie is such a cutie, I think she would look great with long or short hair. I think she would love short hair for summer and if she didn't like it...wouldn't take long to grow it back out. I remember growing Courtney's bangs out, my advice to that is...the younger the better. Good luck in whatever choice you make for her.
Teresa ~ I found you through Heidi's blog.
Brylie is such a pretty girl and her hair is so beautiful. Yeah, I would have a hard time cutting it, too!
Good luck on your decision and definitely post pictures!
Being one that can't grow her hair TOO long because it is so fine it would be hard for me to cut it too! But i think it is cute she has an opinion and would probably encourage that. After all, she is exploring what she likes and doesn't and she probably likes here mommy's hair :) As far as bangs, you are right, easier if short, the short hair will be nice and cool for summer, and i think girls look adorable with short hair and barretted bangs when their bangs are growing out. She has a whole lifetime to grow her hair back out :) I would just go with it.
She is such a cutie that I'm sure it doesn't matter how her hair is cut--that smile is always going to be the first thing people see! :) I remember my mom letting me get a "short" cut when I was a little girl. I always loved that she let me decide what to do with my hair!
With the bangs....I kind of think it would be easier to grow them out now--there's so many fun barettes and headbands that she could use through the summer!
I agree...cut it short for the summer. Since her hair grows fast hopefully if neither of you like it...it will be long again in no time. I had LONG hair my entire life. Wish I would have done something different every once and awhile. My hair grows VERY SLOW though!
yes you should definately cut it should i bet it would be adorable! she has perfect hair to be able to cut it short it lays nice and straight :D now chloe on the other hand if you tried to cut short i think would be a disaster just because she has so much! lol
I think whatever you do, Brylie will always look like a little princess.
i don't care what you do, but i want to see a picture of the results of BOTH of the pretty girls in your house when you are done at the salon! do a before...and after!
Brylie's such a little cutie... I'd hate to cut her hair though. Maybe a compromise of something in between...? But when it comes right down to it... she's your baby and it's your decision!!! Have fun!!!
:O)
