A couple weeks ago Robb sent me to a wonderful salon for a day of pampering for my birthday. Ahhh just what I needed! Since the salon was only a half hour from my younger brother's house, the kids and Robb rode along and hung out there while I relaxed and enjoyed my time away. Since my brother doesn't have any children I was a little worried about my three, very busy, kids destroying his house, but I didn't let it worry me for long, as I was wrapped up in the "comfort tea" I was sipping at the ever beautiful salon. Oh, a day all to myself, no one tugging on my shirt, no one yelling "MOM" or needing a diaper change. No, just me time....
After 3 hours of highlighting, styling, waxing, and massaging I was out the door feeling better than ever, a whole new person. As I started on my way back to my brother's house I got a call from Robb asking if I had packed any diapers for Gage..."No, I thought you did" was my reply and he responded with "I thought you were packing the bag". Well, no diapers got packed. In almost 6 years of packing diapers, never have we had this problem. Since we had an hour and a half ride home we needed to figure something out. "I'll handle it" was Robb's response. Since it was my birthday I thought I would let him do just that. Well, as I walked in the door I was greeted by my precious baby wearing a dishtowel wrapped in duct tape......Ugh. Robb was pretty proud of his concoction. We had no choice, it was going to have to work. Gage did his part by staying dry until we got home and got the diaper off. Just as I began to praise him he peed all over the floor. Nonetheless the time I had at the salon was wonderful!

Nothing a little duct tape won't fix!

That's hilarious! Leave it to a guy to haul out the duct tape. Some day your son will think it's a great "manly" story.
Oh how funny. I almost don't believe that story though because you guys are ultra on-the-ball people, you rarely mess up the details like forgetting diapers:-)
I'm so glad your as "normal" as me!!
What an awesome gift from your hubby...that more than makes up for any negligance on his part.
Way to go Robb!
Every family has to have a funny diaper related story. This is great! Isn't there a 'duct tape' council or something? They could use it in there ads.
Good job Robb on the gift as well. That is a gift that is always appreciated.
We had a similar thing happen while camping only its happened twice and it was with Brooklyn's underwear. We forgot to pack it so I always take extra. (You just never know!!) So we had to put mine on her(clean of course!) and use a ponytail holder to gather up the "extra" underwear. Funny. I think that is a good job on the gift! Way to go Robb. He needs to give some advice to Craig on what to get.
So glad you had a day at the salon. How fun that would be!!!
The duct tape is just hilarious! And the picture- too cute.
