Ninety years of life, love and wonderful memories

Today we said our final goodbye to my grandma who passed away last Saturday morning. She was 90 years old and ready to go to Heaven. Last week we all knew her time here on earth was coming to an end and we had the opportunity to hold her hand and tell her one last time how much we love her and what a blessing she has been in our lives. She was a small, petite woman who gave birth to nine children and worked hard her whole life. Unfortunately her health began to fail her a few years back and she lived the rest of her life in a nursing home, unable to do many of the things she so enjoyed. We are so thankful that today she is bustling around in heaven tending to everyone's needs...what she did best. We know that her new body works perfectly and she is once again in grandpa's arms. Today her 8 living children, all 26 grandchildren and spouses, and many of the 34 great-grandchildren were all in one place. This NEVER happens, so we had Jodi, our wonderful photographer, come and capture the moment. It was amazing to all be together. We will all cherish the photos. We had a wonderful day of catching up, sharing our favorite stories of grandma, laughing and crying together. Grandma leaves behind quite a legacy.

I am so glad I could come and capture the "togetherness." You have such a wonderful family.
What a tribute. I hope the pictures are good - have you seen them yet?

I am so sorry for your loss. Its always a bitter sweet thing saying goodbye to our grandparents. We always know they are ready to go home and be healthy and free of any illness. Yet we hate to see them go. Praying that there will be peace in your heart and that the good memories always stay fresh in your mind. (((HUGS))) to you.

I'm sorry for your loss Teresa.

That last picture was a little hard to handle. You're grandma looks weak compaired to the other pictures. You could tell, however, that she loved New Baby Ruby though.

May she rest in Peace.

isn't it so much easier to take when you know that they are resting, or bustling, about in heaven? i don't know what i'd do in situations like this, if i didn't have that hope.

what a blessing you are. so many people make excuses to not take the kids into a nursing home. too much noise, too much misbehavior, too much work. i imagine those are the nights that your grandmother fell asleep with a smile on her face.

love you!

Can you imagine her excitment when she got to see her husband again? And be in his arms?

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family in this time of grief and remembering the happy memories. I think that it is wonderful that she got to meet Ruby. It looks like she had a wonderul life. I think that it is nice that you got to capture everyone together in pics too. Can't wait to see that.
