With Spring comes the MUD!
On Saturday Hunter decided to do a little "exploring" and this is what he looked like after a good explore! To set the scene, Brylie and I were playing 'Go Fish' (her new favorite card game...we get about 50 games in per day...seriously she can't get enough of it!) and Gage was taking a nap when Hunter decided to go outside and enjoy the nice weather. He knows the rules about where he can and can't go so I don't worry about him much. I checked on him a few times and he was just playing in the backyard and throwing sticks up into the trees. The last time I looked out he was on his way back to the house carrying his boots, crying and COVERED in mud! I went running out and he told me he had gotten stuck in the mud and had to take his boots off and he is "so, so sorry!" Of course I grabbed my camera as I headed out the door! A mess like this had to be captured on film! You would not believe the amount of mud that boy had on him. (and the amount that made it into the house!) The clothes miraculously washed up but the boots got thrown away! Luckily he had gotten 2 years use out of them and they were quite worn. Oh, the joys of Spring!
Oh my gosh. I'm laughing too. Man those boots are full of mud. Poor guy it is no fun to get stuck in the mud and loose your boots. I bet that was quite the mess!!!! HA
I love that you grabbed your camera! I think blogging helps remedy or surpress some of the frustration we might have over situations. Instead of thinking UGH this mess and being upset with Hunter you instead think, Cool some new blog fodder! hee!
Sorry for the intrusion but I had to comment. What a cute picture and what a great kid for being apologetic for the muddy boots. I sometimes think that it’s my son Alex’s goal to get that muddy.
Oh man, that's too much! Nic would have done the same thing...he would have been thinking, "my mom is gonna flip!" Thankfully you were smart enough to put boots on him, otherwise he may have lost a foot!
That is funny that your first thought while running out the door was to get your camera! You are too funny! I would have done the same thing with the boots. Could you imagine your poor washer had you tried to clean them up?!
Love the pictures! Thanks for thinking about all your blogging friends. Tell Hunter thanks for helping to make a great story for all your friends to read. He is just soooooo cute. Good thing it was time to pitch the boots anyway. I'm glad my kids are grown :) Been there, done that!
TOO FUNNY!! Dawson would have done the same thing. One time he and one of the daycare kids decided to play in the ditch that was full of water. I FLIPPED! I couldn't believe they did that. They were a MESS!! And then I thought...Darn, I should have grabbed my camera!
I have been married for 13 years to my wonderful husband Robb and have 4 beautiful children. Hunter is 8, Brylie 7, Gage 4 and our Ethiopian princess, Ruby is 2. I was an elementary school teacher before entering the wonderful world of motherhood. I feel that I have the most gratifying job in the world. There are many challenges to this job, but I consider it to be a wonderful blessing to be able to spend every day with my children. We are currently in the process of adopting from Ethiopia again. Yay!

I'm laughing real hard, Teresa, because you grabbed your camera while trying to console your son. It's totally what I would have done.

Poor little guy! Too cute though - those are the kind of memories ALL kids should have. Good thinking to get your camera to capture it!
Oh, the joys of having boys! :-)

Oh, Momma Roar, it's not just boys!
Hi Teresa - I've been reading your blog off of Lori's blog. Just had to comment.
I'd be crying for two reasons - 1)I would be laughing so hard because it is just too funny and 2)how the heck was I going to get everything clean?!?!
