Where is Summer???

Okay, I know I have been a major slacker lately when it comes to blogging...please don't beat me with a wet noodle. I am in a rut with this winter weather that just won't end! I see the forecast that says 47 degrees by the weekend, but I am very skeptical. Yesterday was cold, today is cold, tomorrow will more than likely be cold. No, I am usually not this pessimistic, but like I say, I am in a rut. The kids are getting stir crazy and have been fighting more than usual lately and I am about to go nuts! I go to bed at night and dream about summer and I wake up smiling...until I look out the window and see the HUGE snow piles in our front yard. Oh, to dig out the capri's, sandals, sand toys, bikes, picnic basket....ahhh the list goes on and on. Until then, I will try to lift my head up and try to enjoy the remainder of winter because when it is 95 degrees and muggy in July, I will wish for this again....well, maybe not. Here is a picture taken of Brylie 2 days ago. She came out of her room wearing her swim suit and asked, "Mom, when is summer?" I guess I'm not the only one wishing for summer!

Your in a rut, I'm in a funk. We need to get together!

Jennifer, what's a winter coat? I practice denial and don't wear one. I am the crazy woman that other mothers are swearing at under their breathe because I am a bad example for my children. Yes the kids wear them....

Heidi, I am with you on the no coat thing! My mom actually bought me a winter coat because she couldn't stand that I didn't wear one...I just can't stand a big, bulky coat. And besides, I am sweating carrying one big baby and keeping track of 2 busy kids everywhere I go.

What a cutie in her swimsuit!! Although I agree about summer...this girl won't be wearing a swimsuit anytime in the near future!!

Let's pray for that warmer weather they are talking about...

Hi~ Teresa.
I'm with you too. I'm tired of winter and ready for summer. I'm also feeling like I'm in a rut lately too.

I don't mind winter. I just don't like this weird weather that produces 2 1/2-day blizzards.

You should bring Brylie to Brooklyn's recital. It is June 8th and 9th at the DD Miller. She then can really get excited about it and they enroll in August and start at the end of August. Its kinda spendy but I go the month by month payment and then its not so much. I pay about $30/mo. and then you have ballett shoes (I might have some of Brooklyn's old ones and leotards you could have) and then the recital costume. That is usually $60 but if they like it, its worth it to me! Glad I only have one girl!!!!

Such a sweet picture.
Im the opposite to most people, I am dreading summer. I LOVE winter, I like spring and fall but I am not a fan of summer. It gets way too hot for me. I get migraines and other problems with the heat so Im loving that we stil have winter here. ALthough today its more like spring, getting a little warm that I even had to open up the windows.
:)
Great post!

Hi Teresa,
We're going to be in SD the month of June through the 4th of July! I can't wait to get on my flip flops and soak in some SD sunsets at the lake...I have been OVER winter since December 21st! I told Jason that if I never saw a flake of snow again for the remainder of my life on earth, it would be more than fine! It would be great! So, I guess that means that the peer pressure from SD to move to Wtn really holds no weight unless, for some reason, God decides SD can skip winter from here on out...I'll be praying for your furnace to suffice for a little while longer...can't wait to see you in June. Maybe the girls can play!

Isn't funny how we get excited over hearing it might get up to the 40's? I then talk to my daughter in TX and she loves to rub it in that it's 70 degrees there. (She gets her compassion from her mom) Our day will come. I do remember well being ready to pack away the kids winter gear and at least move on to spring coats :)
