Brylie loves to be a little mommy to Gage. This is what it looks like when she tries to hold him.:) As you can see Gage is not trying to get away, he LOVES all of the attention that she gives him! Although he is 20 months old,
Brylie still calls him her "baby brother" and cares for him as if he were as fragile as a newborn. He plays along and lets her put him to bed, which consists of her putting him in her bed and covering him with blankets and singing and reading to him. She also likes to sit by him at the dinner table and help him with his food. He tends to milk it a little as
Brylie is so willing to take care of his every need. It is really pretty sweet! It is great when I need to take a shower or just get some housework done,
Brylie volunteers to take care of Gage and she does a great job! If only she could change diapers then we'd really have it made! :)
Lately she has been asking for a baby sister...Uh Oh!

That has got to be the most adorable story I've ever read. I have a feeling she's been watching you very carefully. Nice work.
I also love how proud Brylie looks to play mama in that photo.
I can so relate!
We have to have a seating chart now just to decide who sits by Andrew at each meal. Even though Andrew is capable of feeding himself they think they need to 'help' him. Nic even calls him "Baby Boochie".
Look at what you are already teaching her and how she is miles ahead of where some girls will be as moms!
The greatest gift you can give your child is the gift of a sibling. (Pope John Paul II)
Funny! Brooklyn wants a baby sister also. I told her the hospital ran out of babies since she thinks we just went and "picked" Cooper out like at the Cabbage Patch Kids! That's cute how she mimics you!
Too cute!
Ashley (now 11) wasn't into dolls until she held her first real baby. (Caleb son of MollyOOO) She was two and cried and cried after they took him out of her arms because they had to go home. I immediately went and got her one of her dolls. After that she totally understood dolls and played with them all the time after that. Fun memory. : )
Even though she has several, Nika has never really been into dolls - which I always thought was weird since she's a girl. So I started to try to make her "into" them. Yeah, that doesnt work either. She'd rather go into her brother's room and play with the farm equipment. The only time she really had an interest in babies was when she wanted a sister. After I explained to her that we wouldn't be adding anymore to the family she must have thought it would be up to her then. I learned that she was telling people that she had a baby in her tummy and it would soon be comeing out. Nice!
That is a cute picture and cute story. Very precious.
It's too cute how kids can be with their siblings. She has the mothering instinct in her already.
Even Megan will carry on like that with her baby dollies, carrying them, holding them, feeding them, playing with them and etc.
Both my kids seem to want another brother or sister also. They talk about it from time to time. I on the other hand thought I was done having kids.
My 2 year old, Raena, is just like. She's all about being a mom. She loves real babies, dolls, car seats, bottles, etc. It's funny how "real" she plays with her babies. A lot of times we have to whisper in our house because her baby is taking a nap in her bedroom.
Lindsey was so good with Jenna that I cried when she went off to school..my helper was gone. She was such a good little mommy, just helping all the time. Alicia, on the other hand, just wanted that baby gone!
Sooooooo sweet. And get on that baby sister thing.
