Happy Birthday Ruby Katheryn Sifan!

Happy 1st Birthday my sweet Ruby. Although I was not there on the day that you were born and I don't know all of the circumstances of the first few months of your life, I do know that you were in my heart a year ago today. Your daddy and I were praying for you long before you were born. Today I think about your birth mom and pray for peace in her heart. I know the decision she had to make must have been the most difficult thing she has ever had to do and I know that she named you Sifan (meaning 'for your sake') so you would always know how much she loved you and why she had to give you up. You are a perfect fit in our family and I thank God for bringing us together. You are a true blessing and I love you so very much!

Gosh! Its been a while since I've had a chance to check in on some of my fav family blogs! I am a little behind, but just had to drop in and admire Ruby. She is an absolute doll! I cannot believe she is 1 already. What a sweet post.

It's hard to believe that she's now yours and such a huge part of the Arnold family. What a joy for all of you.

It is difficult to think of her birth mom. I can't imagine the tearing of her heart as she handed her baby away. Today we pray for God to touch her spirit and give her peace.

Happy Birthday, Miss Ruby!!!
I always find Emilee's birthday to be a little bittersweet. Of course, her excitement for each year brings out the pure joy in turning one year older (I wonder when that ended??), but thinking about the emptiness that her birthmother might be feeling leaves me a little empty. Her Family Day (the day she came home) brings back so many great memories because we were there.

Well, may Miss Ruby have lots of surprises for all of you in the coming year!
